Chuck Romans
Vice President, Product Development, MDR

Chuck Romans has 28 years of database marketing experience in the education marketplace. In his current role of Vice President of Product Development at MDR, he is responsible for list solutions, e-marketing solutions, and MDR Sales Solutions. During his tenure at MDR, Chuck has launched many innovative and leading-edge products, including Buyers at School response files, Educators at Home database, industry-leading analytical products, and developed sophisticated predictive indicators using database mining and modeling techniques. Chuck’s experience in customer database management has proved valuable in assisting many education marketers leverage their customer information to develop marketing strategies for increased profitability.

Prior to joining MDR, Chuck managed direct marketing initiatives at McGraw-Hill’s American School Publisher Division, the Random House School Division, and Educational Dimensions Group.

Chuck is a graduate of Fairfield University in Connecticut with a degree in Financial Management, with a minor in Economics.

Bob Stimolo
President and Founder of School Market Research Institute, Inc.

Bob Stimolo is a veteran education marketer with almost 40 years of experience and has helped plan and execute hundreds of sales and marketing campaigns into the preK-12 market. He is the publisher of School Marketing Newsletter, a monthly newsletter now in its 30 th year of publication, and Between the Issues, a free monthly e-newsletter.

Bob founded School Market Research Institute in 1980 and began working with numerous education companies helping them to unlock the mysteries of successful school marketing. Bob has been helping clients improve results while reducing costs by applying predictive models to their promotion campaigns for the past decade.

Bob regularly conducts seminars on school marketing and speaks at various trade association meetings. He is the official school market consultant for the National School Supply and Equipment Association and a regular contributor to their publications. Bob holds a B.A. from the University of Connecticut and an M.B.A. from the University of Hartford.

Mike Stone
Consultant, Analytics, Acxiom

Mike Stone has over 15 years of advanced research experience, with the last nine dedicated to applying analytical solutions to business problems, primarily in the areas of database marketing, CRM, business intelligence, retail analytics, and localization issues.

Stone combines the technical skills of a data miner, programmer, and solution architect, with Ph.D.-level training in research methods and statistics, and a strong solutions-oriented focus. Stone’s background has encompassed a variety of industries and verticals with a particular focus on advanced statistical techniques and geo-spatial solutions.

Key professional experiences include work at ClientLogic and Abacus/DoubleClick.

Stone earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in Social Psychology from the University of Colorado where he was awarded a National Science Foundation Fellowship to support his research in social perception and attitude change. Stone earned his B.A. in Economics from Indiana University along with a Certificate in Management from the Kelly School of Business.
